Mr dod (aka Kévin d’Odémont) is originally from Belgium and came to UK to work and learn english in 2002. He soon fell in love with Norfolk where his heart has remained ever since. He was a salesman in the international mobile phone industry, then an Area Sales Manager managing several art galleries across the east and south-east of England.
One day he was involved in a car accident as a result of brake failure following a negligent repair. Suffering with post traumatic stress as a result he realised that a change of career was necessary. Fitness classes had been a great way to reduce his stress and improve his overall wellbeing and it was a great place to meet new people. Mr dod Fitness was created when he became a Fitness Instructor Level 2 and started teaching group exercise classes in August 2011, just a few months after he met his husband Ed. Ed is a graphic designer that has been supporting Mr dod since day one and always believed he would make it in this industry because Mr dod is an extremely passionate person inspiring many to focus and improve their mental health through fitness.
Mr dod has since become an instructor for Zumba, Zumba kids, Insanity, Powerhoop (the first instructor in Norfolk), Brazuca (the first instructor in the UK), Specialist for older adults and Laughter Yoga, as well as teaching aerobics, “legs bums & tums”, interval circuits and much more. In 2017 and 2018 he won the prestigious Muddy Stilettos Award as Norfolk’s Best Fitness Instructor.
He created the “Chairecise” workout as a means to help improve the physical and mental wellbeing of older adults and those with limited mobility in care homes. He also launched Powerhoop in France and Belgium in August 2012 as the director and course coordinator but decided in February 2018 that this was taking too much time from his work in Norfolk.
Each year Mr dod teaches hundreds of group classes in the local community around Norwich area, over 260 care home classes for senior citizens and nothing stops him. He gives his time for local charities at large events as a warm up act for Colour5K, Steeplechase and has also helped organise charity fundraising events for the likes of Little Lifts, BigC, Pact Sanctuary, cancer for children and inspired women.
If you haven't met Mr dod yet, what are you waiting for? Book a class and find out for yourself why he is such a fantastic instructor… Thank you for wanting to find out more.
